Privacy Notice
This notice explains what personal data we collect when you enquire or engage us, why we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have under UK data protection law.
Who we are

What we collect
- Information you give us through our enquiry form — your name, email address, phone number, property address and the message you send us.
- Information you give us when you download our landlord checklist — your name, email address, whether you are a landlord or an agent, how many properties you have (if you tell us), and whether you agree to receive our emails.
- Records of the work we carry out for you, including before and after photographs.
- Basic, anonymous website usage statistics.
How we collect it
We collect most of this information directly from you — through our enquiry form, by phone, by email, or in person. For website usage statistics, information is collected automatically as you browse the site.
Why we use it and our lawful basis
- To respond to your enquiry and provide a quote — this is in order to take steps prior to entering a contract, and in our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries.
- To carry out and record the work, and to manage our relationship with you — this is necessary for the performance of a contract.
- To keep before and after photographs that evidence and, where relevant, promote our work — this is in our legitimate interests. If a published photograph identifies your property and you would rather it did not, contact us and we will take it down or anonymise it — see ‘Your rights’ below.
- To give you the landlord checklist and to know who has downloaded it — this is in our legitimate interests.
- To send you occasional emails about safety checks and maintenance, but only if you tick the box to agree — this is based on your consent. You can withdraw it at any time with the unsubscribe link in any email, or by emailing us. If you download the checklist as a contact at a company, such as a letting agent, we may email you at work about similar services in our legitimate interests. Every email lets you opt out.
- To keep our website working and to understand how it is used — this is in our legitimate interests.
Who we share it with
We share your personal data only where necessary, with:
- Our website and form provider, Netlify, which processes enquiry submissions and hosts the site.
- Our analytics provider, Plausible Analytics, which is privacy-friendly: it does not use cookies, does not collect personal data and does not track you across sites.
- Cloudflare, whose Turnstile check stops spam on our forms. It looks at how your browser behaves to tell a person from a bot. It does not use cookies to track you and is never given what you type into the form.
- Our email provider, Microsoft 365, which holds the emails we send and receive.
- The tradespeople who carry out the work. They include self-employed Gas Safe registered engineers, who do our gas work and gas safety certificates, and self-employed NICEIC registered electricians, who do our electrical work. They receive only what they need for the job, such as your name, your phone number and the property address.
- Where needed to complete the work, trusted suppliers — only as far as is necessary to do the job.
We do not sell your personal data.
Cookies
This website does not use marketing or tracking cookies. Our analytics (Plausible) is cookieless. Any cookies used are strictly necessary for the site to function, so no cookie-consent banner is required.
International transfers
We keep your data in the UK or EEA where possible. Where a provider processes data outside the UK, appropriate safeguards — such as UK or EU-approved standard contractual clauses — are in place.
How long we keep it
We keep personal data only as long as necessary. We keep enquiry details for a reasonable period to respond and follow up. We keep landlord checklist details for two years after your last contact with us, or until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. We keep job records and warranties for as long as needed to honour the 12-month guarantee and to meet our legal and accounting obligations.
Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Have inaccurate data rectified.
- Have your data erased.
- Restrict how we process your data.
- Object to our processing.
- Data portability.
- Withdraw consent where we rely on it.

Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk — though we would appreciate the chance to help put things right first.
